PURPOSE

Enables learners to establish their individual coaching ethos and gain a fundamental
understanding of the indispensable skills and knowledge that they need to coach.

Goals

  • To create a series of progressive game-like training sessions that encourage
    players’ ownership (decision-making)
  • To create a game day environment linked to training session goals

    Outcome – This qualification qualifies learners to independently plan, deliver and
     review linked and progressive coaching sessions.
    This qualification is designed for learners looking to develop their knowledge and
    skills in order to be able to independently coach.

Eligibility
Prior to registration learners are required to:

  • be accurately identified
  • be at least 16 years of age
  • be able to undertake this assessment in English or Welsh (if available)

Who is this course for?

  • For those who wish to become involved in coaching, and to have
    responsibility for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of linked and
    progressive coaching sessions.
  • For those that are currently operating unqualified and wish to gain recognition
    of their coaching practice
  • For those that wish to improve their generic coaching skills

Learning Environment

This course focuses on the skills and competences required to be able to plan,
deliver and review a series of linked and progressive sport and physical activity
coaching sessions, either working independently (if over the age of 18) or as part of
a coaching team.
