CX25 Curious Coach Grassroots Day took place at Rectory Park on 8th June 2025, featuring some very special guests.
Helping raise coaching standards.
Opportunity for the whole coaching family to come together, network and learn.
Learners on the day were accredited 8 hours FA CPD.
For coaches from Level 1 all the way up to UEFA B License.
This was Coaching Xchange’s 3rd Annual Grassroots Coaching conference. The day provided opportunities for coaches to learn from industry experts, and coaches from different levels of the game. Our aim was to create a positive learning environment for coaches to network and challenge current practice.

In March 2023, Pete retired after a 17-year tenure at the Football Association (FA). During his tenure, he spearheaded the coaching of young children in the Foundation Phase, earning international recognition as an expert in his field.
Pete’s leadership extended across the grassroots and professional game, where he designed and delivered the Advanced Youth Award. He collaborated with FA skills coaches to provide a world-class experience for Foundation Phase players. Notably, Pete was instrumental in ensuring that the FA’s DNA was developed in a manner that provided the foundation for all Foundation Phase players to have a world-class experience.

Matthew, a Pro-licensed coach, is currently a developer of coaches at one of the world’s largest academies, Arsenal FC.
Prior to this role, Matthew served as a Youth Coach Educator for the Football Association for 15 years, supporting and developing elite coaches working in the professional game.

Former Turkey youth-international goalkeeper Yilmaz Aksoy has played for several clubs; from Arsenal FC to Leyton Orient FC. His career started off at the prestigious Arsenal FC Academy, moving onto Leyton Orient FC at the age of 16 to play as a professional goalkeeper. Yilmaz spent two seasons at Leyton Orient FC before moving to the Bulgarian Premier league side PFK Etar 1924 in 2013.
Yilmaz’s career was cut short after sustaining a knee injury in 2013, when playing for PFK Etar. This was a turning point for Yilmaz, his passion for football soon developed into a passion for coaching and passing on his experiences and skills onto the next generation of goalkeepers.
Since then, Yilmaz has been completed many coaching qualifications, obtaining his UEFA B Licence in coaching and his FA B Licence in Goalkeeping. Yilmaz is also one of the youngest coaches to have obtained the Level 4 Advanced Youth Award: specialising in Goalkeeping.

Coach Developer and Mentor with over 10 years working for The Football Association. Currently a Sports Intervention Coordinator for Active Essex. Better known as Streets specialises in supporting newly qualified Level 1 and UEFA C coaches, and his workshop on the day will be based around getting your team ready for next season.

FA Coach Mentor, with over a decade of experience working for the Football Association, is currently responsible for diversity and inclusion within coach development at the FA.
Peter holds UEFA A license and Advanced Youth award qualifications.

FA Coach Developer for UEFA C and B, Lecturer at UCFB in Football Coaching & Management, and also Football Consultant for Senior Professional Game UEFA Pro Licence courses throughout Europe. Kevin research has looked at the fouls within elite football as well as scoring.
